Off Trail  2014 - Western Oregon Deer Hunting  [30]

2014 - Western Oregon Deer Hunting

Western Oregon deer season is always an excuse to get out in the woods. This year we again hunted (unsuccessfully) in the Stott Mt. unit of the Oregon Coast Range, taking advantage of rarely opened timber company gates into the Little Luckiamute and Rickreal Creek drainage's. I was able to find a couple interesting spots that I had not seen in a very long time. One was Rock House Cave, a truly unique geological occurrence for the Coast Range. The other was Quarter Mile Hill, which was our test hill for four-wheel drives when I was in High School.
